Edward Roche, 71, originally from Upton, Massachusetts passed away on Sunday, September 4th, 2022 in his home in Williamsburg, Virginia with his wife of nearly 33 years, Betty, and his family by his side.

Eddie was born on March 14, 1951 in Worcester, Massachusetts to the late William and Marion (McCarthy) Roche. He was the youngest of eight children, all of whom were raised in Upton. Eddie graduated from St. Mary’s School in Milford, Massachusetts and was employed as a store manager at Westboro Auto Parts in Northboro, Massachusetts for many years.

After moving to Eliot, Maine, Eddie became very involved with and enjoyed his community service with the Eliot Police Auxiliary. When they had had enough of New England winters, Eddie and Betty moved to Williamsburg, Virginia where they lived at the time of his death.

Some of Eddie’s favorite things and fondest memories include his trip to Israel, Woodstock ’69, tending to his beautiful gardens, watching NASCAR, and sharing his lap with his many beloved pets. He was a ham radio enthusiast and enjoyed connecting with people all over the world. Eddie was also a member of the Baháʼí faith.

In addition to his wife Betty, Eddie is survived by his siblings Mary Fedorczuk, Millie (Nick) Galeone, Patrick (Betty) Roche, Kathleen (Guy) Schultz, and Dottie (Timmy) O’Neil; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William Roche and by a sister, Marion Despres.

Eddie is also survived by his children, Tara (Alan) Roche, Danny (Lyric) Roche, and stepchildren Mark (Laura) Faucher, Christine (Nick) Lux, and Matt (Natalie) Faucher; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Many thanks to Riverside Hospice in Williamsburg for their compassionate care.

Rest In Peace, Eddie. Thanks for your gentle spirit and wry sense of humor that made homeroom with Mr. Dee at St. Mary's a fun way to start the day. Enjoyed our last high school class Zoom call, too, and finding out about Woodstock. Heartfelt condolences to your family.

Eddie was one of those classmates whom I got to know better at the reunions than in our St. Mary’s years. He was the only person I knew who attended Woodstock. I thought he was the luckiest person in the world. I will miss him at the upcoming 50th reunion. God bless you, Eddie.
