Dorothy Virginia Tyssen Opheim passed away Friday, September 13, 2013. Born in Richmond, VA on January 22, 1916, she was the first of eight children born to the late Henry and Eleanor Tyssen.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Noris Opheim, her parents and four siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Teena Opheim of Croaker; her son, Norris Moreland and wife, Anita of Richmond; and son, Henry Moreland of Jacksonville, FL. Also, two grandchildren, Amber and Matthew, and two great-grandchildren, Payton and Sawyer. Dorothy is also survived by three sisters, Eleanor Mae Honeycutt of Chase City, VA, Jane Weilert of Rochester, NY, and ìBillieî Parrish of Richmond, VA; plus, many of an extended family.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Our Saviors Lutheran Church Cemetery, Norge, VA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad, Toano, VA, or Heritage Humane Society, 430 Waller Mill Road, Williamsburg, VA.
