Donald “Don” G. Yeaw, 57, passed away on August 9, 2016 in Williamsburg, VA. Don was preceded in death by his father, Truman “Butch” Yeaw. He is survived by his wife of 16 years Lisa Yeaw; sons: Wilken Michaels, Matthew Schultz, Chaz Schultz, Justin Rodgers, and Phil Robinson; mother Arlyne Yeaw; sisters; Tammy-Jean Bacala, Theresa Derting, , Rhonda Aither, and Jodi Hildreth; one grandchild, Thailand Baldwin; and brother of the heart Steve Edwards.  Don served our country in the United States Navy and was most recently an employee of the United Way of Greater Williamsburg.  He was a longtime practitioner of martial arts and a holder of multiple black belts; an instructor with Action Arts Academy USA and East Wind Academy in Virginia, and founder of Action Arts Academy New England. Don’s personal life goal was to positively impact the lives and hearts of a million people; through community engagement, martial arts and laughter he empowered, encouraged, and enlightened. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 11am-1pm, at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188; with a memorial service following at 1pm. Interment is private.  In lieu of flowers please consider donation to The United Way of Greater Williamsburg or Action Arts Academy Scholarship, The Michael Fund, which was established to assist students in need (www.actionarts.us).     My family and I would like to express our deepest sympathy over the loss of your dear Don . May you find comfort in your loving memories and the warmth of family and friends. A scripture that has uplifted me during times such as this is found at Revelation 21:4. There it describes a time when death and pain will be gone forever after God restores his original purpose for the earth. We will even see our loved ones again who we have lost in death (John 5:28 & 29). It is our hope that these words bring you a measure of comfort during this difficult time as well.     I remember The first time i Had met Don he was encouraging me to continue working with my Martial Arts Training even though I was classified as disabled...When Don's Light crossed to continue his spiritual Journey apart from us, we all see our own loss, I see his touch In all of our lives in so many absolutely amazing ways that I just know that while we are distraught, he will be looking forward to the next life he can help turn to the right path. we all will miss you Don.

    It is hard to say goodbye to such a wonderful, caring person. I worked with Don at The Brattleboro Retreat for 3 years. I never saw Don with a frown or downtrodden. He was alway smiling and happy. He was a wonderful husband, father and a dear friend. Life sometimes is not fair. We will all miss you, good buddy.

    I am still in shock. Don was and always will be remembered and be a big part of my life. He gave me the strength to move on with positivity when I was having a rough time. Training with Don and instructing the kids in martial arts with him was unbelievable! I never knew anyone who was so good with kids as Don. I will miss him and will always have great respect for him. My thoughts and prayers are with you Lisa and I am sure he will be laughing and smiling as he always did from above.

    Such a kind soul. I worked with Don at The Brattleboro Retreat. He was a great coworker. We shared many laughs. I will surely never forget that laugh. He will be sorely missed.
