It is with great sadness the children of Deloris Glasser McGary (Dolly) share the passing of their mother. During the past few years, she has bravely fought a number of illnesses – always putting on a happy face. She did her best to push forward by visiting with family and friends, playing bridge and bingo, singing in the chorus, and always having a puzzle to work on.
She was born to Russell and Wilma Glasser December 26, 1929, in New Castle, Pennsylvania. She married Charles McGary (Chuck) on November 24, 1949. They lived in many places Lafayette, Indiana; Charleston, West Virginia; Darien, Connecticut; Dayton, Ohio; Basal, Switzerland; Morris Plains, New Jersey; and Williamsburg, Virginia. Chuck and Dolly made the most of life and traveled the world.
Dolly is survived by her children Chris McGary (Joni), Susan McGary, Diane McGary Avjean, Lynn McGary Foley (Michael), and Jeff McGary. She is also survived by grandchildren Suzzanne Lohr, Rachal Lohr Dean, Jeffrey Lohr, Katelyn Shipper, Megan Fields, Lauren Dollahon, Brian Avjean, Lukas Foley, Jack McGary, and eleven great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Betty McConahy, Beverly Brandt (Jim), Connie Reynolds (Wayne) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Charles McGary.
