Christian Lay Bailey, 44, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017.

Our hearts are heavy from the loss of our beloved Christian, who left us much too soon. He was a truly loving and giving human being, and he spent his life helping others, unconditionally, in ways and to an extent that most of us will never achieve in a lifetime. Christian left behind a sister who loved her little brother immensely. But he actually had a much, much larger family who called him their brother. This is truly a testimony to how big his heart was, and how much space he had in there to be a brother and the closest of friends to so many of you. How it was possible may remain a mystery forever, but let’s live by Christian’s measure and let’s let more of the people around us into our hearts, because it will make this a better world, just like Christian made this a better world. It is our duty to make up for the loss of his loving presence by letting more love into our lives; more of our fellow human beings into our hearts. Thank you, Christian, for showing us this beautiful, bright path. May you rest in peace, forever.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your state’s SPCA.

Ms. Marian, Mr. Rick, Mr. Bob, and Michelle, I apologize for my belated condolences. I am sorry for loss for your precious son/brother. Christian welcomed me as my first friend when I moved to North Springfield. He introduced me to so much good. I got a lot of useful information about engineering and physics from him that I still carry with me. Unfortunately, we lost touch over the years and I just found out last year about his passing. I wish I was there to council him or just be a friend to him again. Your family can be confident he is in a better place.

We can't even begin to imagine what the family are going through right now. Words cannot express how saddened we are when we heard of Christian loss. May God give you Marian, Bob, Michelle and the family much comfort, peace and strength in your time of grief. He is in heaven now watching over you. Holding you close in our thoughts. Watching the tribute slide show Christian looks happy and is well love by his family and friends. Please let us know if we can help out in any way we can.
