Catherine Fagan Reaser

Catherine Fagan Reaser, 73, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Cathy was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on June 20, 1947, and was the daughter of the late Paul Curt Fagan and Mary Elizabeth Pulik.
Cathy grew up in Norfolk and Chesapeake and graduated in 1965 with honors from Great Bridge High School. She received a scholarship to attend Old Dominion College (now Old Dominion University) in Norfolk, Virginia. Cathy graduated from ODC in 1969 with a BS in Health and Physical Education. Upon graduation, she received a job offer to teach at her alma mater, Great Bridge High School, in the Physical Education Department. Cathy was the head coach of the girls Field Hockey, Volleyball and Basketball teams, and she coached the field hockey team to four local championships. In 1972 Cathy married the love of her life, John William Reaser, and together they built a family rooted in love. After staying home with her children, she returned to the classroom as a special education teacher’s aide at Woodbridge Middle School in Woodbridge, Virginia.
Cathy’s biggest joy in life came from spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She had a smile that could light up a room and never met a stranger. She was a lifelong Redskins fan, loved playing bunco with neighbors, and loved traveling. Music was one of her passions and she would immediately start dancing and singing when she heard a song playing. She loved gardening and was always so proud of the beautiful flowers that adorned her home. She also loved going to the beach with her kids and grandsons. Cathy was an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church in Woodbridge and then St. Bede’s in Williamsburg.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John William Reaser II; son John William Reaser III and his wife Agnes; daughter Lee Ann Reaser; grandsons Patrick Sebastian, Peyton Timothy, Jacob Simon and Peter Michael; and her sister Patricia Fagan. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Timothy Dennis; her sister Anne Marie; and her son, Paul David Reaser.
A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held on Thursday, June 17 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Bucktrout of Williamsburg (4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188). Interment will be private in the Williamsburg Memorial Park in Williamsburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 358 McLaws Circle, Williamsburg, VA 23185 or www.alz.org.
Memory tributes and condolences may be shared with the family at bucktroutfuneralhome.net.

Cathy will leave such a void in John and the family's lives. She was a special sister in law to me. When we could visit she always made me feel welcome. Cathy is with her Savior in heaven and all pain and forgetfulness is gone.
