Carolyn Faye Steele Varble, passed away suddenly on October 20, 2018. She was 62 and a lifelong resident of Williamsburg.

She leaves behind her husband, Michael Wayne Varble; her son, Elvin “PJ” Watkins; her grandchildren, Jordan, Chase, Cody, Grayson, and Sabrina; her great granddaughter, Holly Faye; her daughter, Alexa Gail Varble; her granddaughter, Abigail Rose; her three brothers, Rusty, Ralph, Tony; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Cecil and Mary Steele.

Faye had a love for trucks and drove them for many years. She was a manager for CHKD and a bus driver for JCC for many years. Her last job was her favorite, watching and caring for her grandkids and being a homemaker.

Faye was the kind of person that would give the shirt off her back if someone needed it. She was loved by many in this town and touched countless lives. She devoted herself to her kids and grandkids, she absolutely adored them and we know she is watching over all of us now.

A memorial service will be held on October 27, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Williamsburg Moose Lodge, 5429 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188.

Faye my closest friend when we were growing up. You helped me deal with all that life was giving us that we didn't understand at the time. Your soft smile, compassionate heart and love for life will be so missed. MIke and family, may you keep the best of memories in your souls as you deal with your loss. My heart hurts for you all. With all my love, Peggy

Faye was one of the sweetest people I've ever know. We worked together for many years, happy years. Her smile was always ready, her help available when ever you needed it. The world has lost a beautiful soul and heaven has gained a new angel. Mike and family, I'm so sorry. This is a terrible shock. May she rest in peace in the arms of the angels.

Words are hard at the moment, but the memories are great. I am so thankful our families connected long ago. There are so many great memories and fun times as we grew up. Our condolences to Mike, Rusty, Tony, and all the rest of the family. May there be a peace that over takes and brings a comfort to you all at this time.
