Cabell Simpson Borland of Guilford County, NC died on November 25, 2013. She is lovingly remembered by her mother, brothers, co-workers and friends as a person who possessed a generous spirit and someone who always put the wellbeing of others before her own personal comfort.
Cabell was born in Richmond, VA and graduated from the St. Catherineís School in 1978. She attended the Virginia Commonwealth University and moved to Gibsonville, NC in 1982, where she met Mr. David Pulliam, who hired her to work at Guilford Plumbing Supply in Greensboro. Cabell loved living in North Carolina and working at Guilford. The family atmosphere that David fostered gave Cabell a sense of togetherness and family that is rarely found in todayís business world and which inspired a great sense of loyalty and love between Cabell and her Guilford co-workers.
Cabell had many joys in life. She loved the Washington Redskins with a passion as great as any fan could muster. She enjoyed beating her friend Joan in hard fought games of Scrabble. She was a voracious reader who constantly had a book in her hand. She was widely admired amongst the skilled plumbing trade industry for her outstanding knowledge and expertise.
Above all, Cabell loved her dogs. From those who came before (Portia, Jumpy and Pete), to those that survive her (Boomer and Smokey); Cabellís ìboysî were always at the center of her universe. There is no greater love than between a loyal dog and its master, and the unbreakable bond Cabell had with her pets was a union of remarkable strength and passion.
Cabell was predeceased by her father and older brother. She is survived by her mother and two younger brothers. Her spirit, love, and loyalty will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and co-workers.
On Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., Cabell will be laid to rest at Cedar Grove Cemetery, South Henry Street, Williamsburg, VA 23185. At the conclusion of the service, the family will receive well wishers at The Landing, 5700 Williamsburg Landing Road; Apt. 223, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
