Bodhi Magnolia Scarbath was born at 22 weeks gestation on August 7th, 2020 at 5:48pm to Derek and Hillary Scarbath of Williamsburg, VA. After almost 4 hours of fighting to live without any requested medical intervention, Bodhi passed away in her parent’s arms surrounded by her loving family.
She weighed 1 lb 3.2oz and was 12 inches long. She was perfect. She had long legs like her daddy and had the cutest little button nose. She was her parent’s lucky charm after struggling with infertility for almost 2 years.
Bodhi was greeted in Heaven by her great-grandparents, Junior Satterfield, John Gardner, Edith Sievernich, and Lynn Scarbath. She later welcomed her great-grandpa, Jack Scarbath, at the end of 2020.
She is survived by her mom and dad, Derek and Hillary Scarbath; her now little sister, Lenni; her grandparents, Tommy (Pappy) and Debbie (Gammy) Gardner, Tom (Opa) and Petra (Oma) Scarbath; her aunts, Hope (Carlos), Haley (Jake), Haven, Tucker, and Sara (Brad); her uncle, Tommy; her cousins, Holden, Xavier, Caleb, Emmeline, Sophie, and Isla; her great grandmothers Grace Gardner and Mary Satterfield.
Bodhi is missed dearly and over the last three years of missing her, her family has continued to honor her life and legacy through milk donations to the CHKD Milk Bank, donating to families in need during the holidays, random acts of kindness, and through Weighted Angels.
“Our sweet Bodhi, we miss you more than words could say and love you beyond measure. Our hearts will never be whole and our arms will always feel empty without you. Until we meet again. We love you! Love, Papa, Mama, Lenni, and Kaiser”
