Betty L Avery

Betty Avery, age 84, passed away on August 9, 2012. Her daughter, Jill was by her side.

Born in Glens Falls, New York, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Lucy Ide LaFayette.

Betty was a Registered Nurse, and Alumni of Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. She worked for many years at the VA Hospital in Syracuse, New York. She was very proud of being an RN.

She was the wife of the late C. Lowell ìDocî Avery. They had four children: Jack B. Avery, Judy B. Carpenter (Bruce), Mark L. Avery (deceased) and Jill M. Avery.

Betty was one of eight children and is survived by two of them including Ruth Keddell (Robert), and Erma Nordquist (Dean). She was predeceased by Marie Snyder, Harold ìRedî LaFayette, Marge Miller, Eleanor Rogers and William LaFayette.

Her internment will be with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.
