Bernice “Bea” Strode, passed away on January 11, 2019. She was born on November 19, 1922, in Springfield, Illinois to the late George and Clara Kunz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Master Sgt. Russell Lee Strode; daughter, Sharon Lee Throckmorton; her sisters, Ruth, Dorothy, and Norma; and her lifelong friend Rawlin Burcham.

For years Bea sold Avon products and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 13 years of working as a Rural Carrier.

Many thanks to Norma Hagerman, Sentara Hospice, Mary Ellen, Steve, and Hospice House of Williamsburg for taking such great care of Bea.

Interment will be held on January 22, 2019 at 2PM at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
