BÈla SzÈkely, Sr., 57, of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on October 22, 2012. He was a Hungarian native of SzÈkelyudvarhely (Odorheiu-Secuiesc), Romania.

BÈla immigrated to the United States with his family from the communist Romania in 1982.

He was an artist, a talented woodcarver and worked on historical icons such as Saint Patrickís Cathedral in NYC and on the restoration of the Mona Lisa in the Líouvre.

He is survived by two sons, BÈla Jr. and Szabolcs; ex-wife, ErzsÈbet of Virginia Beach; daughter-in-law, Charlene Hodge of Virginia Beach. Services are private .

    I'll always remember going across the street and when not playing with Bela Jr., having great conversation with Bela Sr and taking little road trips. ALWAYS felt welcome, and was sad in my mid-teens in having your family move, but understanding in some way. All of you have crossed my mind over the years certainly with fond memories. <)
