Anna Rachel Richards, 88, of Williamsburg slipped peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, Sept. 7, in her home. Originally from Kenley, NC, Rachel lived most of her life in Williamsburg raising 5 sons and a daughter. Rachel was a founding member of Greensprings Pentacostal Church. She was employed for many years by York County Public Schools as a bus driver and founded a G&R Communications with her husband. She enjoyed much of her golden years in Groveland, Fl. Rachel enjoyed playing golf, shuffleboard and cribbage. Her family joins her in rejoicing in her home coming to be with her Lord and Savior whom she was a devoted servant of. Rachel was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, Gene Richards and her son Johnnie Richards. She is survived by her sons Jimmie Richards (Deirdre), David Richards (Vickie), Daniel Richards and Samuel Richards and her daughter Rebekah Horton (James); as well as 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a host of dedicated family and friends. A visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 6 to 8pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home. Funeral will take place Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 1pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Rd. Williamsburg, with a private interment to follow.
