Alson Riketa, 47, of Williamsburg, passed away on April 20, 2018.

Alson was born in 1971 in the Marshall Islands, he eventually relocated to the United States to start a new life. After moving to Williamsburg, he quickly secured a job as a steward for a large hotel in Colonial Williamsburg. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Being from a tiny island of 70 square miles and 50,000 inhabitants Alson was amazed by the engineering and architectural designs the United States had to offer. One of his favorite things to do was traveling around to see America’s History. He enjoyed everything the Historic Triangle had to offer; his favorite being the stories of early settlers. Due to the language barrie,r he had a hard time understanding everything being said to him. This however did not dampen his spirit and his love for learning. His other hobbies included, fishing with his family, playing basketball, and playing country music on his ukulele.

Alson leaves behind his wife, Alka Ralpho Riketa; son, Ralpho Riketa; daughter, Jasia Jacklick; and brother, Wilmar Riketa.
